Yuletide Greetings

May the miracle of Christmas 2016 fill our hearts with joy, and always remain with us. Let us reverse the tide of war and restore the real spirit of Christmas, which lest we forget is ‘Peace on Earth and Goodwill to all Humanity.’ Take care on this day and everyday!

A Charlie Brown Christmas 1965

Banksy is an England-based graffiti artist, political activist and film director. His painting shows the Israeli Separation Barrier blocking the route taken by pregnant Mary and Joseph. This brings a political focus to the silly season, which people prefer to think of in terms of crass consumerism, gluttony, and other trivial distracting behaviours. Alas, the wide-ranging Israeli–Palestinian conflict does not go away with the arrival of Santa Claus, and this is Banksy’s way of steering the world’s attention back to that intractable conflict situation.

Banksy’s Christmas card

This Christmas, as every year since 1948, Jewish and Christian Zionists continue the catastrophe that destroyed Arab villages and forced three quarters of a million civilians to become refugees in their own land.

The world sings Christmas carols to the glory of God; praising peace and goodwill to all men. But not in the Holy Land where darkness and death pervade every corner of the Israeli-occupied, Palestinian lands. There is no light, save for the flashing fire of a US-Israeli tank-shell destroying another home and another family, as God weeps yet again at another Zionist season of violence and inhumanity to mankind, this Christmas. Wake up to the reality of the suffering in Palestine!

Love Fred
