A conversation about reality: My Dinner With Andre (1981)

I am impressed by how wonderful this film is, how there is nothing else like it. Those who love it, as I do, return to it time and again, enchanted. I’m sure I will see it a dozen or more times before I die. Wallace Shawn and André Gregory meet, sit down, talk for almost two hours. As in all conversations, the tide of energy flows back and forth, but mostly it is André doing the talking, and Wallace the listening. This excerpt of 2.58 minutes is one of the classic monologues plainly laying out the progression of what has befallen our society over the past several decades and, by doing so, points the way out of the matrix.
