Why End War

22/01/2015

What is the opportunity cost of war? Consider the externalities that follow from the military industrial complex. Some $2 trillion dollars a year is spend globally on wars and preparing for future wars. The scale of the heedless exploitation and waste of scarce resources is not viable.

An alternative manifesto. These vast amounts of money could be far better spend on improving public health: wholesome food and potable water security; living in peace and harmony; sustainable forms of energy, agriculture, forestry, manufacturing, technology; and so forth. I’m sure that we all know what is required. This is not rocket science!

Activist and author of War is a Lie, David Swanson breaks it down in 2 minutes why we should end all war. He refers to the TED Talk by Erica Chenoweth. Link
