Anyone doubting the value of protest should watch this film: ‘We are the Many’

10/06/2014

On 15 February 2003 over 15 million people marched against the war in Iraq, in over 800 cities around the world. I recall that day, when I was one of some two million people who took the anti-war message onto London’s streets. History was made with the largest ever political demonstration. The city came to a standstill – some couldn’t even reach London due to the sheer throng of people. Special trains brought thousands from Manchester, Liverpool, and elsewhere.

That evening Tony Blair told the nation that the protesters had blood on their hands! What a scoundrel!

‘We Are Many’ is an incredibly ambitious film, charting the journey to and beyond the biggest global protest in history. Anyone doubting the value of protest should watch this film.
